City Works

Light Bulb City includes a vast network of creative individuals from all walks of life and professions. Our City Councilors, as we call them, contribute ideas, feedback and market analysis to the City Center and the projects at hand. Our unusual structure and our broad range of talents
and knowledge gives us an enormous perspective to take on just about any project.

We use rapid prototyping or
"Frankensteining" as a primary method to initiate and test ideas.

Creating quick crude tactile prototypes is one of the most effective ways we know to speedily develop viable products and ideas. From the
Frankensteining process we learn exactly what works and what doesn't so even things that might only look good on paper show
their true colors.

Whether you need a new food product or an improved whirlygig, we will try out many ideas by actually making something rather than just relying on sketches, renderings or CAD drawings.

Many times in the prototyping process brand new ideas stick out that may never have been discovered in the abstract 2D or 3D virtual world.

We know manufacturing. Not only do we develop product concepts, but we make sure that they can actually be produced in today's international manufacturing arena and within your company's level
of expertise. We stay up to date with all of the latest production techniques to be certain that our product concepts can become products.

Our fee is a simple royalty which can range from 1% to 26% on the sales of the product, depending
on predetermined and discussed factors. Generally, our royalty is 10% or under, about what you'd pay for a decent sales representative. This small fee
can be built right into the cost of the product so that in essence, our product development has virtually no direct expense to your business.

We do ask that you set and provide a nominal budget to cover the potential costs of materials and prototyping. We will dutifully stay within your budget and provide you receipts for all expenses incurred in the development process. Budgets vary greatly depending on the project but are normally in the range of $500 to $10,000 annually.
